Welcome

Tall, tranquil pines mingled with hardwoods and crepe myrtles WELCOME YOU to TIMBERTON living. This beautiful community is located in southwestern Hattiesburg. Quiet streets wind among almost 200 homes of families reflecting varied ages and interests. Picturesque fairways accentuate the rolling hills and gracefully beckon the golfer.

Known as “the Hub City”, Hattiesburg is centrally located within 90 miles of Jackson, Meridian, Biloxi, New Orleans and Natchez; several smaller towns lie within 30 miles. TIMBERTON is easily accessed from highway 59, 49 and 98 corridors. A robust economy and two universities, University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University, provide our residents a lengthy list of shopping, dining, entertainment, sports, educational and employment opportunities. Minutes south on highway 49 is Camp Shelby, a large Army training center. TIMBERTON is very near Presbyterian Christian School (K-12), the Family “Y” and Tatum sports complex.

The Timberton Property Owners Association represents the neighborhood in matters of interest before the City Council, City Planning Commission, the Timberton Golf Club, developers and county/state organizations. TPOA facilitates an open exchange of ideas and projects among residential property owners. It’s purpose is to enhance our interaction with the larger community, strengthen safety measures and property values and to promote a friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy. Among the community activities volunteers provide are: a Directory of residents, Easter Sunrise Service, Egg Hunt, Ladies Tea, Annual Garage Sale, Plant Swap, ‘Night Out Against Crime’ Fish Fry, Christmas Open Houses and holiday food drive. The board of directors is elected, in staggered rotation, each year at the General Meeting.

Locals as well as newcomers from all over the country choose to live in TIMBERTON because it just feels like home…the one you had or the one you would like to have…Would you like to join us?
